‘Performance art consists of private rituals and public acts, catharsis and confrontation are the central strands of art as performance. The work is the beginning of a dialogue, not an end. It is something shared. We are all performers, even when we are playing at being spectators.’
Establishing a meaningful two way dialogue between the audience and the artist allows for deeper understanding and changes within the emotional state of the viewer. Therefore I will continue to use performance within my practice to allow a stronger audience connection but from my research into participation and audience within art I will leave the relationship between the artist and no artist open to allow these changers to occur.
