Tuesday Project 1 – Deadpan Portraiture

For our deadpan portraiture task I decided to look at the different aspect of a ‘Deadpan’ portrait

I started by isolating the different muscles and features of the face (mouth, eyes, cheeks) that make a portrait free of emotions.

After isolating these features I created a small installation, consisting of my images hanging on string that was suspended from the top of my studio space in a square formation, to almost enclose and surround you in the different aspects of a deadpan portrait, thus you (the viewer) becomes immersed in the portrait.
